Sugarloaf In Dubai

Starting December 2010, the United Arab Emirates will get their own piece of Brazil with the launch of Brazilian Town, a complex slated to start construction in January in which Brazilian companies will be able to install their offices with the advantages of a free zone.

Located in Gateway City in Ras Al Khaimah, only 40 minutes from Dubai, the Rio Central complex will offer office space, flats, business centers, housing, shopping centers, and gyms. Engineers and architects from Brazil are working on the project, inspired by Rio's famous Sugar Loaf (yes, there is even a cable car connecting the two main towers of the complex).

Thanks to Made in Brazil For this

Ode To Autumn

There is a Bergmanesque feeling of death and decay in the crisp autumn air. The sun is shining but underneath the knowledge of winters deadly fangs strike and freeze time and life during the dark and silent winter. The summer barely dares to breathe in fear of freezing frost

Smiths On A Shelf

This is one of my first Spiral Paintings and now someone is considering buying it The idea of parting with it makes me kind of sad....I rarely feel this way and of course I would definately go through with the sale, but I wonder why this one has this effect on me??

Paint Chips

Bub and Pie: Why I Like Paint Chips

Since everyone here knows that I make paintings of paint chips, it's probably no surprise that I occasionally google the term "Paint Chip". Today I came across and interesting blog entry on that term. Click on the link above for more Info

Back To School

Getting out of the relaxed, summer, state of mind of long, deadline - free days in the studio and getting into the speeded up, new yorker state of mind of running around to 3 openings a night has always reminded me of that "Back - To- School" feeling of adolesence. This year, being on the ferry back from fire Island one night, and at a MoMA opening the next that feeling was really there, so with much reluctence, I went up to MoMA with my friend Vinnie and upon entering they shoved a vodka & lemonade in our hands and within minutes we were running into old friends and catching up on where we had spent our summers....it was great fun!

The Lucy Mckenzie project room looked great and Vinnie and I were both really impressed with the re-hang of the contemporary galleries, the biggest surprise was some Pan-Am travel posters as the design department's contribution, they were beautiful and since it's been ages since I've seen a travel poster or a travel agency it took me a minute to realize what they were and it was beautiful in the garden as well, it's good to be back!

Does This Mean Summer is Over??

Sent from my iPhone

Goodbye Fire Island...

This was on our way to Low Tea at The Blue Whale Yesterday, I remember the Blue Whale from when I visited as a twink in 1987 and it's mentioned in the Village People song. We had a blast!

Storm Passed

The storm allowed us to watch four hours of Tales of the City and make
2 different kind of tarts. After dinner we walked to the Ice Palace
and saw the Local Drag Talent, Logan was especially impressive with
all those back flips. Today it's beautiful on the beach , probably the
nicest day here yet!
