Last night my friend Robert had a party to celebrate the installation of his sculptures at city hall park...we shared a bottle of champagne on the subway ride down there....whoo hoo!
Erik Hanson has been making artwork referencing ethereal experiences for over 20 years and has had 7 solo shows in New York and group shows in various venues throughout the world including The museum Boymans van Boyningen in Rotterdam, Center Cultural Rojas in Buenos Aires and MoMA/PS1 in new york city. His most meaningful job before that was as a DJ in Minneapolis' punk club "The Longhorn" from 1978 to 1981 where at one point he owned all of the punk rock records in existence, world wide.

I am so glad I found your blog. I noticed Robert Melee's sculptures in City Hall Park right after the snow. I was taken by them, especially slightly covered.
I am a tour guide on the double decker buses and have not stopped pointing them out to my passengers. I usually talk about the Woolworth building at that stop but... oops the building is now ignored. It is nice to see public art in NYC that is exciting to point out and discuss.
I come from a family of artists in NYC. My father started E.A.T with Rauschenberg in the 60's and I find it hard at times to get the average tourist to appreciate the art world in NYC.
Thank You

FYI, I am a costume maker and work with many types materials, would love to make a costume like one of the sculptures.
