I Loved this show! There are maybe 16 small canvases in a large , cavernous room and each canvas, when you get up to them, opens up and reveals a whole world to the viewer. One thing that saves them from being merely decorative is the layers of painting beneath, revealing the final painting to be a product of a process of trial and error. These paintings have an amazing presence, well worth seeing. Check out the New Museum website here..
