Color Chart at MoMA

Great exhibition at MoMa,I imagine anyone who knows my work would not be surprised to hear me say that. (see previous post!) Standouts are two really great Richter laquer sample paintings in pristine condition (the cracks in the one at the Pompideu distract from the nuetrality), an amazing painting by Francois Morellet, an artist who is sadly underknown in this country and coincidentally the father of Florent Morellet, the man behind Restaurant Florent. The Jim Lambie floor piece has probably never been better installed anywhere, encircling Balzac in the entryway of the museum. Liz Deschenne's photo of a green screen is a real standout though, for years it seemed like Liz's work was just too smart to break through and reach a larger audience (disclaimer, Liz is a friend of mine and I have the good fortune to have a piece of hers hanging above my computer screen) but after her knockout show last year at Miguel Abreu it seems like finally she is getting the attention she deserves, and that's great to see.
